Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients who give consent for the study. Patients requiring fixed orthodontic treatment. Patients with good oral hygiene and healthy periodontium, OHI-S index score in the range of good to fair.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who do not give consent for the study. Patients with compromised periodontium. Patients on antibiotic medications. Patient having systemic illnesses like Diabetes mellites, AIDS, patients on medication like phenytoin, or immunosuppressants. Patients with localized gum disease.

Evaluate the antimicrobial property of Conventional Glass Ionomer Cement (GIC), Chitosan (CH) nanoparticles modified Glass Ionomer Cement (GIC) and Chlorhexidine (CLX) modified Glass Ionomer Cement (GIC) for the purpose of cementing orthodontic bands to teeth.Timepoint: Plaque sample collected after 4 weeks from experimental site and control site

Compare the antimicrobial property of Conventional Glass Ionomer Cement (GIC), Chitosan (CH) nanoparticles modified Glass Ionomer Cement (GIC) and Chlorhexidine (CLX) modified Glass Ionomer Cement (GIC) for the purpose of cementing orthodontic bands to teeth.Timepoint: After completion of 4 weeks, plaque samples will be collected & will be used to check antimicrobial property.
