Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients of age above 18-65 years of either gender. Patients with ASA grade I and II. Patients undergoing Mandibular fracture surgery Patients who give consent form

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria: Not giving consent, coagulopathy chronic use of opioid analgesic, analgesic intolerance

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To measure the total consumption of the rescue analgesic (tramadol) in the first 24 hours among the patients who had taken exogenous melatonin in the preoperative period of their mandibular surgery.Timepoint: First 24 hours postoperatively.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To measure the Visual Analogue score - VAS among the patients in postoperative period To calculate the Ramsay sedation score among the patients in postoperative period To measure the total consumption of opioids in the intraoperative period To measure the level of anxiety through verbal assessment of anxiety Timepoint: Assessed at 1st,2nd,4th,6th,12th,18th & 24 hours postoperatively.
