Intervention1: DEXMEDITOMIDINE: Intravenous Dexmeditomidine 0.5mcg/kg ten minutes before extubation Control Intervention1: ESMOLOL: Intravenous Esmolol 0.5 mg/kg ten minutes before extubation.

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. BMI 20-35 kg/m2 2. ASA grade 1 to ASA grade 2 fit patients 3. Availability of written informed consent 4. Hemodynamically stable patients with all routine investigations within normal limits.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Allergy to the study drugs. 2. Patient with pre-op Heart rate 45 beats/min or less. 3. Patient on recent oral opioids in last 3 months. 4. Pregnancy 5. Any cognitive dysfunction 6. Any psychiatric disorders 7. Patient with renal insufficiency or liver impairment. 8. Patient with coagulopathy. 9. Patient with neuropathy. 10. Patient unwilling to get enrolled in the study.

To compare efficacy between Dexmedetomidine and Esmolol in the attenuation of hemodynamic response i.e, Heart Rate and Blood Pressure, to tracheal extubation.Timepoint: Vital parameters were recorded during the following timelines T0- baseline vitals before injection of study drug T1- At the time of bolus injection of study drug T2- 1 min after injection of study drug T3- 5 mins after extubation T4- 15 mins after extubation T5- 30 min after extubation T6 – 1 hour after extubation T7- 1 and a half hour after extubation T8- 2 hour after extubation
