Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1 Age group 5-10 years of either sex, irrespective of cast religion or socioeconomic status. 2 Weight of child less than expected as per the agei.e., grade 1 (71-80%) and grade 2 (61-70%) according to IAP classification of malnutrition. 3 Absence of edema. 4 Parents giving consent to participate in the study.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Children having celiac disease, malabsorption syndrome, metabolic error, chromosomal disease. 2. Children suffering from any chronic illness, hereditary diseases and malignancies. 3. According to IAP classification more than 80 % (normal) and less than 61 % (nutritional grade III – IV ) were excluded. 4. Patient taking antiepileptic drugs or steroids. 5. Children having presence of edema was excluded even if the weight of them is 60-80% (Kwashiorkor patients). 6. Children with neurobehavioral disorders like ADHD, autism etc. 7. Patient/Parents not willing to participate in the study.
