Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1 Patients having signs and symptoms of Pandu as well as of Udara Krimi will be selected. 2. Patients between the age group of 10-60 yrs of age will be included for the present study. 3. Patients having positive stool investigation report for parasite with hemoglobin concentration below 10 gms% were selected.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Hemoglobin concentration less than 6 gms% • Patients having blood dyscrasias eg. Thalassaemias etc • Patients having hemoglobinopathies eg. Sickle cell anemia, Hb-S disease etc • Pregnant females and lactating mothers • Other life threatening diseases, like IDDM, D.M, Hypertension and debilitating diseases like T.B. etc were excluded from the study.

Basic Hematological investigations like Hemoglobin estimation, R.B.C. count, P.C.V.,to assess the severity of Anemia. • Other routine hematological investigations like Blood indices- M.C.H., M.C.V., M.C.H.C., Peripheral blood smear and E.S.R. helped to know the cause and type of anemia. • Stool examination – for detection of intestinal helminthes or their ova, cystic forms. Zinc sulphate concentration method2 was used for present study. Timepoint: 4 weeks
