Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients between 15 to 30 years of age Skeletal class 1 with dentoalveolar bimaxillary protrusion cases with: Need for extraction of all 4 first premolars ANB 0 -3 Recent extraction site -within 1 week of first premolar extraction. Healed extraction site- after a time period of 14 weeks of first premolar extraction

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients suffering from any systemic diseases. Conditions and medicines that could have an impact on bone biology Patients who had undergone Earlier orthodontic therapy. Periodontically compromised cases. Patients with severe skeletal malformation Patients with functional problems of the orofacial muscles Eg; Bruxism, Parafunctional habits, etc.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
There is a difference in amount of anchorage loss in en-masse retraction following maxillary first premolar extraction towards healed and recent extraction site with pre-adjusted edgewise appliance.Timepoint: T1: Time point at which Pre-retraction cephalogram taken prior to retraction. T2: Time point at which Post-retraction cephalogram following completion of retraction.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate & compare the amount of torque check & duration of en-masse retraction following maxillary first premolar extraction towards healed & recent extraction site with pre-adjusted edgewise appliance.Timepoint: T1: Time point at which Pre-retraction cephalogram taken prior to retraction. T2: Time point at which Post-retraction cephalogram following completion of retraction.
