Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: HIV patients with a first episode of suspected CNS infection

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: those patients who have an established microbiological diagnosis for CNS infection at presentation, suspected relapse of HIV related CNS infection, pregnancy or lactation, malaria, scrub typhus, leptospirosis, dengue
