Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients above the age of 18 years and below 65 years 2. elective laparotomies 3. Patients giving the consent to surgery 4. Open appendectomies 5. Open cholecystectomies 6. Hysterectomies

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Cesarean section 2. Laparoscopic surgeries 3. Open/laparoscopic hernial repair 4. Emergency laparotomies 5. Patients who are immunodeficient and on corticosteroid therapy 6. HIV and HBSAG seropositive patients
