Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients aged between 20-60 years. 2. Patients admitted for intracranial neuro surgeries of space occupying lesions (Conditions where ICP-monitoring is used which are Intracerebral haemorrhage, Subarachnoid haemorrhage, Traumatic head injury and Intracranial tumors) 3. Patients with anti-edema prescription 4. Patients with GCS score more than 8 5. Elective as well as emergency intracranial neuro surgical cases 6. Traumatic as well as non-traumatic intracranial neurosurgical cases 7. Patients with comorbidities Diabetes and hypertension

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Pregnant women 2. Co-existing ophthalmic and neurological diseases 3. Patients with orbit or eyelid injuries

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To predict the Intracranial pressure of the patients posted for intracranial neuro surgery in pre operative room 1. By measuring optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) (millimeter) 2. By measuring the eyeball transverse diameter (ETD) (millimeter) 3. Calculating ONSD: ETD ratioTimepoint: Assessed immediately at the time of performing the scan

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Correlating the diagnostic accuracy of ONSD & ONSD : 1. ETD ratio with clinical & radiological parameters of patients posted for intracranial neuro surgery in pre operative room 2. the ONSD varies from 3.65 mm to 5.17 mm (7) 3. The normal ETD varies from 21 mm to 27 mm. (8) 4. The ONSD/ETD ratio range from 0.1 to 0.23, with a mean ratio of 0.17Timepoint: Assessed immediately at the time of performing the scan
