Intervention1: Desflurane: Group 1: General Anaesthesia with Desflurane (inhalational agent) as maintenance agent till MAC of 1 is acheived to assess and compare emergence and recovery from anesthesia

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.ASA grade II and III20 2.Between 18-60 years of age21,22 3.Patients of either sex 4.Duration of surgery being more than 4 hours.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Emergency surgeries 2.Non consenting patients 3.Full stomach patients 4.Patients with cardiovascular diseases and uncontrolled hypertension. 5.Patients with high intra cranial pressure (ICP). 6.Patients on chronic opioid therapy

To assess and compare emergence from anesthesia in cancer surgery for the head and neck while using Desflurane and Isoflurane in patients presenting with difficult airwayTimepoint: Assessment of emergence from anesthesia in terms of - Time to readiness for extubation from time of stopping the inhalational agent (T1), Time to extubate (T2), Time to shift patient to post operative care unit post extubation (T3) will be done

To assess & compare recovery from anesthesia in cancer surgery for the head & neck while using Desflurane & Isoflurane in patients presenting with difficult airwayTimepoint: Assessment of recovery from anesthesia in terms of -Modified Aldrete Recovery Score (MARS) checked at 5min,10mins & 15 mis in post operative care unit & Time to discharge from post-operative care unit from the time of shifting patient to post-operative care unit will be noted
