Intervention1: Single Dose Dexamethasone before emergency Laparotomy.: patients in this group will receive 1mg/kg Inj. Dexamethasone in iv drip immediately before undergoing emergency laparotomy.

Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All patients between 15 to 70 years having perforation peritonitis and intestinal obstruction or undergoing emergency laparotomy.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients having Diabetes Mellitus 2. Patients having known auto-immune disorder. 3. Patients on prolonged steroid therapy. 4. Patients of HIV-AIDS 5. Patients not giving consent for the study.
