Interventions

Intervention1: Muscle energy technique (MET) with Conventional Therapy: Muscle energy technique will be given for total 6 sessions (3 session per week) for upper trapezius and levator scapulae muscles

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Subjects with 4-12 weeks with mechanical neck pain 2. VAS score more than 4 and less than 7 3. Subjects with tightness and weakness of upper trapezius and levator scapulae muscle

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Subjects with less than 4 weeks and more than 12 weeks 2.signs of serious pathology (e.g., malignancy, inflammatory disorder, infection) 3.neck pain with radiation into arms or upper extremity 4.history of cervical spine surgery in previous 12 months 5.history of trauma or fractures in cervical spine 6.Cervicogenic headache 7. Whisplash associated disorders 8. Osteoporosis 9. Any deformity (e.g., Torticollis, Sprengel’s deformity, scoliosis)
