Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I - II. 2. Males or females aged 18-60 years. 3. Elective surgery under general anaesthesia in supine position with neutral position of neck of time less than 180 minutes

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patient with pre operative sore throat or upper respiratory tract infection. 2. Patients with head and neck surgery involving airway 3. Patient with more than 2 Intubation attempts 4. Patients with assisted nasogastric tube insertion, or the use of throat pack 5. Known allergy to the test medications. 6. Difficult airway, expected prolong surgical duration, or postoperative mechanical ventilation 7. Surgeries in prone position 8. Pregnant patients

MeasureTime frame
To compare the severity of post operative sore throat in patients.Timepoint: 0,2,4,6,12,24 hr

MeasureTime frame
1. To compare the severity of hoarseness, foreign body sensation during rest and at swallowing. 2. To compare the severity of cough. 3. To compare any incidence of post operative nausea, vomiting .Timepoint: 0,2,4,6,12,24 hr
