Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Age more than 18 years Patients getting admitted to the surgical intensive care unit SICU All postoperative patients who underwent major thoracic or abdominal surgery in the last 30 days and admitted to SICU. All immediate postoperative patients who underwent thoracic and/or abdominal surgery.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patient or patient representative not providing consent. Patients with incomplete medical records. Patients with unknown preoperative serum creatinine. Patients with inoperable cancer diagnosed after intraoperative staging. Patients undergoing non-primary cancer surgeries such as diversion stoma, stoma closure, staging laparotomy, etc. Patients presenting with AKI, but underwent surgery more than 30 days ago. Pregnant and lactating women. Children.
