Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To compare the number of episodes of hemodynamic instability(as a rise in SBP or DBP or MAP by more than 20% during each noxious stimulus either at T1 or T3 or T5 as compared to T0) in suboccipital retrosigmoid craniotomies with unilateral Superficial cervical plexus block along with scalp block VS scalp block alone.Timepoint: Time points for recording are the T0: the time just before the noxious stimuli, T1: 1 minute after the noxious stimuli, T3: 3 minutes after the noxious stimuli, T5: 5 minutes after the noxious stimuli noxious stimuli are pin insertion, skin incision, bone drilling and dura mater incision | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To compare Heart Rate, Systolic blood pressure/Diastolic Blood pressure and Mean Arterial Blood pressureTimepoint: pin insertion, skin incision, bone drilling and duramater incision, dura closure and skin closure;intraoperative and postoperative cumulative fentanyl consumptionTimepoint: till 24 hours postoperative period;postoperative pain intensity using Critical care Pain Observation Tool after surgeryTimepoint: 4 hours interval upto 24 hours after Surgery;Cervico-cephalic pain using Numeric Pain Rating ScaleTimepoint: at discharge from hospital;Post craniotomy pain using Numeric Pain Rating ScaleTimepoint: at 3 months post surgery | — |
