Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Age 18 years or older 2.Diagnosis of acute ischaemic stroke of anterior circulation confirmed by DWI and apparent diffusion coefficient maps and admitted within 24 hours of symptom onset. 3.Acute ischemic stroke Symptomatic SIASO confirmed by CT angiography. Symptomatic SIASO refers to ipsilateral artery stenosis or occlusion and defined as more than 70% diameter loss in any segment of the internal carotid artery (ICA)/middle cerebral artery (MCA) ipsilateral to the infarction. 4.Pre-stroke modified Rankin scale =1 5.DWI, SWI , TOF-MRA/CT Angiography done within 24 h after symptom onset.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Acute infarction involving the posterior circulation or bilateral hemisphere confirmed by diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI). 2.Patients who were discharged early (within 3 days after admission) 3.Patients with MRI contraindications (heart pacemaker, metallic implant, or severe claustrophobia); 4.Patients with no interest in participation.
Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To determine the association of ACVS and END in patients with acute anterior circulation ischemic stroke.Timepoint: at admission ,72 hours , discharge , 1 month and 3 months follow up (day 0, 3 , 30, 90) | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| 1.To determine the association of ACVS and END in patients with symptomatic intracranial stenosis or occlusion (SIASO) 2.To determine the frequency and factors associated with the presence of ACVS 3.To compare the functional outcome at 90 days in patients with or without ACVS Timepoint: day 0 , 3 day 0 day 0 , 30, 90 | — |
