Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged between 20 and 60 years both male and female Participants. 2. Having symptoms of Gridhrasi for 1 month or longer from the onset, diagnosed as unilateral radiating leg pain below the knee with positive straight-leg raise test (not less than 30 degrees) or at least one neurological deficit symptoms as paresthesia, muscle weakness, or reflex abnormalities. 3. The low back outcome score (LBOS) scale of Greenough and Fraser score of equal to more than 30. 4. The Oswestry disability index equal to or less than 40%. 5. Leg pain intensity for 40 mm or more measured by the visual analogue scale (VAS)34.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Participants who have the history of severe spinal diseases (e.g., cauda equina syndrome) or progressive neurological symptoms (e.g., progressive muscle weakness); 2. The low back outcome score (LBOS) scale of Greenough and Fraser score of less than or equal to 29. 3. The Oswestry disability index more than 41%. 4. Participants with sciatica caused by any other conditions other than lumbar disc herniation; 5. Participants who have undergone surgery for lumbar disc herniation within the past 6 months; 6. Participants who plan to have spinal surgery or other interventional therapies during the first 4 weeks of the trial; 7. Participants having history of taking antiepileptic medications, antidepressant medications, opioids or corticosteroids; 8. Participants who have history severe cardiovascular, liver, kidney, or hematopoietic system diseases, mental health disorders, or other severe coexisting diseases (e.g., cancer); 9. Participants who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to conceive during the trial period. 10. Participants who have received Acupressure or acupuncture therapy or Marma therapy within the past 6 months. 11. Any other condition which the Study researchers think may jeopardize the study

To establish the anatomical co-relation between sushrutokta marma points and Acupoints of Madhya Sharira. To establish the anatomical co-relation between sushrutokta marma points and Acupoints of Jatru Urdhva Sharira. To establish the efficacy of Acupuncture in Gridhrasi(Sciatica). Timepoint: 8 visits
