Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients undergoing elective surgeries under General anesthesia 2. ASA physical status 1 & 2

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients undergoing emergency surgeries under general anesthesia. 2. Patients undergoing surgery under regional anesthesia. 3. Patients with known allergy to lignocaine. 4. Patients with anticipated airway difficulty. 6. Active smokers 7. Recent URTI within past 2 weeks

To compare the effects of nebulised Lignocaine versus nebulised Normal saline on the systolic blood pressure changes in response to laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation in patients undergoing surgery under General anesthesia with standard induction techniquesTimepoint: Systolic blood pressure readings every 1 minute till 10 minutes after endotracheal intubation

MeasureTime frame
To compare the effects of nebulised Lignocaine versus nebulised Normal saline on changes in heart rate, blood glucose levels & grade of cough during emergence in response to laryngoscopy & endotracheal intubation in patients undergoing surgery under General anesthesia.Timepoint: Heart rate at every 1 minute till 10 minutes after intubation. Fasting Blood glucose on morning of surgery & blood glucose reading 10 minutes after intubation
