Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare CD8+ T-cell, regulatory T-cell count and immunoglobin (IgA, IgG and IgM) levels in patients with major depressive disorder with healthy controls.Timepoint: 6-8 weeks

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. To compare above-mentioned variables in patients with major depressive disorder who responded to antidepressant with those who were non-responsive to antidepressant therapy. 2. To compare above-mentioned variables in patients with major depressive disorder at the time of diagnosis/presentation of disease and after 8 weeks of anti-depressant therapy. 3. To find out association of above-mentioned variables in MDD patients with tendency for self-injury and suicide. 4. To evaluate if CD8+ T-cell, regulatory T-cell count and immunoglobin (IgA, IgG and IgM) levels at the time of diagnosis/presentation can predict the treatment responseTimepoint: 6-8 weeks
