Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1 Patients willing to give consent for the research. 2 Patients posted for surgeries with incision within 10cm in length. 3 All the males and females posted for routine and emergency surgeries. 4 Patients between the age of 18 to 60 years.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with previous midline laparotomy. 2• Concurrent anticoagulant. 3• Corticosteroid therapy. 4• Factors that could affect wound healing like anemia and hypoproteinemia. 5• Patients with comorbodities 6• Patients with active wound infections anywhere in the body at the time of surgery were excluded from the study. 7• Patients with high BMI 8• Patients with Psychiatric illness

| Clinical assessment of the wound shall be done on POD 3,5 & 7 for surgical site infection till the patient is discharged & on the first follow-up visit to hospital. Wound infections shall be considered. Grade 1 in the presence of erythema, induration & pain. Grade 2 same findings as grade 1 & with serous fluid. Grade 3 in the presence of contaminated fluid in less than half wound. Grade 4 same as grade 3 in more than half woundTimepoint: 7 days | — |
