Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients aged between 18 and 60 belonging to either sex undergoing elective surgery under General anaesthesia. 2. American Society of Anaesthesiologist 1 and 2

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients requiring postoperative mechanical ventilation 2. Pregnancy or Breastfeeding 3. Body mass index (=35 kg/m2) 4. Allergy to study drug 5. Contraindications to use of study medications such as cardiac, renal, hepatic disease, seizure or other neurological disorder, 6. Chronic substance abuse 7. History of chronic pain

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the effects of Ketamine and Lignocaine in reducing the analgesic requirements in peri-operatively for first 24 hours. Timepoint: 0,15mins,30mins,45mins,60mins,75mins,90mins,105mins,120mins.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. VAS scores in post-operative patients. 2. Time of initial rescue analgesia. 3. Total number of analgesics used within the first 24 hours. 4. To observe nausea, vomiting, and shivering post-operatively. 5. To assess intraoperative and postoperative hemodynamic changes. Timepoint: 0,15mins,30mins,45mins,60mins,2hrs,4hrs,6hrs,8hrs,10hrs,12hrs,14hrs,16hrs,18hrs,20hrs,22hrs,24hrs.
