Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA Grade I,II Weight between 50-90 kgs Surgeries under spinal anesthesia in lower limb Height more than 150 cm

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients refusing for Spinal Anaesthesia Patients with coagulopathy, severe anaemia or patients on anticoagulant therapy Patient with uncontrolled coexisting systemic or metabolic disease Patients with history of labile hypertension, heart blocks (heart rate less than 50/min), dysarrhythmias. Patients on a2 adrenergic agonists and beta blockers. History of hypersensitivity reaction to local anaesthetic drug or adjuvant drug (levobupivacaine or dexmedetomidine) Patient having neurological disorder and psychiatric disorder. Patient with spine tumors, spine deformity and spinal trauma Pregnant patient Patient having risk of developing sepsis and bacterial wound infection at the site of spinal injection.

To compare the efficacy and safety of different doses of intrathecal dexmedetomidine as an adjuvant to hyperbaric levobupivacaine for duration of effective analgesia in lower limb surgeries. Timepoint: Duration of analgesia will be taken as time from administration of subarachnoid injection to patients complaint of pain at surgical site with VAS score more than 3
