Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients meeting the criteria for Dry Eye Disease and with Vitamin D levels below 20 ng/mL

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who are already on vitamin D supplementation,patients on drugs which alter vitamin D metabolism,autoimmune diseases,history of intraocular surgery,corneal opacity,ocular injuries,contact lens users,corneal diseases like keratoconus or recurrent erosion syndromes,corneal surgery history,diabetes mellitus,thyroid disease patients.

MeasureTime frame
To study the effect of Vitamin D supplementation on conjunctival impression cytology and tear film parameters. Timepoint: 8 weeks

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Effect of Vitamin D supplementation on dry eye parameters which will include OSDI (Ocular Surface Disease Index) Score,Schirmer�s test 1 & 2,TBUT(Tear Breakup Time) & Meibography in two groups at the time of enrolment & after 8 weeks of intervention one being treated with artificial tears along with oral Vitamin D & the other group being treated with artificial tears alone.Timepoint: At the time of enrolment & after 8 weeks of intervention.
