Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: BMI less than 35 kg/m2 surgery requiring lithotomy position

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) known case of coronary artery disease on anticoagulants. 2) patients on oral contraceptive pills or on hormone therapy 3) history of venous stripping surgery for varicose veins 4) known case of deep vein thrombosis 5) Known case of peripheral vascular disease 6) history of immobilisation for more than one week

To compare the femoral venous flow velocity between supine and lithotomy position under anaesthesia.Timepoint: femoral venous flow velocity in supine before surgery and at the end of surgery in lithotomy position under anaesthesia.

MeasureTime frame
to compare the effect of lithotomy position on femoral arterial flow velocityTimepoint: femoral arterial flow velocity in supine before surgery & at the end of surgery in lithotomy position.
