Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Body Mass Index (BMI)=30kg/m2 and American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Physical Status I–III, undergoing laparoscopic general surgery of 2-4 hours duration.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with history of any lung disease. 2. Recent infections, recent ventilatory support. 3. Use of immunosuppressive medication. 4. History of smoking in the past 8 weeks.
