Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Acute severe liver injury 2. Acute liver failure 3. Acute Hepatitis with atypical features like: (a) Renal involvement (Serum Creatinine greater than 1.3 mg/dl and/or early initiations of renal replacement therapy and/or hemolytic uremic syndrome) (b) Pulmonary involvement as evidenced by new onset infiltrates in chest radiography or increased FiO2 requirement or elective mechanical ventilation. (c) Evidence of Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) as H score greater than or equal to 165 or raised serum ferritin levels greater than 1500 µg/L, triglycerides greater than 250 mg/dl, LDH greater than 300 U/L, and fibrinogen less than 250 mg/dl. (d) Neurological involvement characterized by focal neuro deficit or autoimmune neuropathy or Guillain Barre Syndrome. (e) Prominent GI symptoms

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Significant intake of hepatotoxic drugs 2. HIV 3. Malignancies 4. Acute HBV, HCV
