Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Correlation between time to preoperative intra-abdominal drain insertion & the change in APACHE II scores assessed before & after drain insertion Relationship between time to preoperative intra-abdominal drain insertion & 30 day postoperative mortality & morbidityTimepoint: 30 postoperative days or discharge

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
change in APACHE II scores assessed before & after preoperative intra-abdominal drain insertion between patients with APACHE II score above and below 10 at presentation.Timepoint: Before definitive surgery;effect of preoperative intra-abdominal drain insertion on intra-abdominal pressure & its correlation with the changes in APACHE II scores assessed before and after preoperative intra-abdominal drain insertion.Timepoint: Before definitive surgery
