Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) Willingness to provide voluntary informed consent 2) For diabetic participants, confirmed diagnosis of diabetes mellitus (Type 2) according to American Diabetes Association diagnostic criteria : HbA1C greater than or equal to 6.5% 3) For non-diabetic participants, No history of diabetes mellitus : HbA1C less than 6.5%
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) Pregnancy or lactation 2) Presence of any acute illness muscle disease like muscular dystrophy or myopathies, or electrolyte abnormalities that may affect metabolic parameters or phase angle 3) Use of medications known to significantly alter metabolic parameters or body composition (e.g., corticosteroids, antiretroviral drugs, diuretics, lithium and chemotherapy agents) 4) History of major surgeries within the past six months 5) Presence of implanted medical devices (pacemakers, defibrillators, or neurostimulators) that may interfere with bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) measurements 6) Any condition affecting fluid distribution (e.g., severe edema, ascites, congestive heart failure)
