Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Adult patients of either sex, aged between 18-60 years age and willing to participate. 2. American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA) I and II status 3. Patients undergoing elective surgeries under general anaesthesia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Anticipated difficult airway. 2. History of hypertension , on antihypertensives 3. Cardiovascular diseases 4. Treatment with beta blockers and calcium channel blockers, or any other drug causing hemodynamic instability 5. Laryngoscopy time more than 30 seconds 6. Allergic to dexmedetomidine 7. Pregnant and lactating mothers 8. Patients refusal to participate in study 9. Patients posted for emergency surgeries

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Heart rate through continous ECG monitor at before nebulisation, after nebulisation ,during laryngoscopy and intubation and 1,3,5 and 10 minutes after that intubation.Timepoint: after nebulisation during laryngoscopy and intubation 1 min 3 min 5 min 10 minutes

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Systolic blood pressure, Diastolic blood pressure & Mean Arterial Pressure) will be measured by noninvasive blood pressure(NIBP) monitoring before nebulisation, after nebulisation ,during laryngoscopy & intubation & 1,3,5 & 10 minutes after intubation.Timepoint: after nebulisation during laryngoscopy & intubation 1 min 3 min 5 min 10 minutes
