Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients admitted and put on mechanical ventilation in ICU for more than 48 hours were included. Patient having acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with pneumonia prior to mechanical ventilation or before 48 hours of mechanical ventilation were excluded.
