Interventions

Intervention1: Aromatherapy massage with Curcuma caesia Roxb essential oil: Study Group participants will receive a massage for 15 minutes per day for weekly five days for 4 weeks with 5 ml of Curcuma

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Subject diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the knee, People who are willing to sign the consent form, Both males and females will be included.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients reported adverse events in patch tests, Patients with knee replacement surgery, Allergy or contraindication to curcumin, recent trauma of the knee Use of any intra-articular injection in the target knee in the last 3 months Use of Corticosteroids or any medications for the last 3 months

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Visual analogue scale (VAS), Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC). Timepoint: Assessment will occur a day before and after the four weeks of intervention

Activity of daily living (ADL)Timepoint: A day before and after the intervention
