Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: In this study, we will include patients undergoing elective abdominal surgeries with age between 18-60 years, patients belonging to ASA physical status class 1 and class 2.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient refusal, Patient having known history of allergy to dexmedetomidine, Patient with history of substance abuse and dependence, Pregnant and breast-feeding women, Patient with neurological disorders, Mentally retarded patient.

To compare the efficacy in terms of severity of catheter related bladder discomfort via Intravenous, Intramuscular or Intravesical Dexmedetomidine.Timepoint: From 10 minutes after emergence phase i.e. when patient wakes up from anesthesia to 24 hours of administrating the drug.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Urethral pain (using VAS score), Hemodynamics- Heart rate, Blood pressure, Spo2, Ramsay Sedation Score, Side effects of drug. Timepoint: From 10 minutes after emergence phase i.e. when patient wakes up from anesthesia to 24 hours of administrating the drug.
