Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients diagnosed with Ulcer, irrespective of their gender, religion and socio economic status will be selected for the study. The duration of is more than 1 month with surface area of the Non-Healing Ulcer more than 1 cm2. Patients willing to follow the procedures as per the study protocol and voluntarily sign an informed consent form will be included for the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Subjects meeting any of the following criteria will be excluded from the study: Malignant ulcer, Tubercular ulcers, Patient found positive for HIV and HBsAg, Chronic alcoholics / Alcohol abuse, Ulcer with gangrenous changes, Known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients used in study drug, Patients with ischemic Ulcers (Diagnosed Clinically and /OR with Doppler), Known cases of Severe/Chronic Hepatic or Renal disease, Patients who have undergone ulcer treatments with cell therapy, dermal substitutes, or other biological therapies within the last 30 days. Patients’ having any other life-threatening complication.

To know the effect of Nimba ointment in Dushtavrana with special reference to Non-healing Ulcer.Timepoint: The effect of Nimba ointment/Povidone iodine in Dushtavrana with special reference to Non-healing Ulcer will be assessed at baseline and on 7th day, 14th day, 21st day, 28th day, 35th day, 42nd day, 49th day, 56th day, 63rd day, 70th day, 77th day, 84th day, 90th day.

1. To assess the effect of Nimba ointment & Povidone iodine ointment in restoring normal skin color after healing of ulcer 2. To assess the adverse effects of Nimba ointment & Povidone iodine if any 3. Assessment of changes in ulcer by clinical examination based on Bates Jensen ulcer assessment toolTimepoint: 1. Adverse effect if any of Nimba ointment & Povidone iodine ointment will be assessed at baseline & 2nd day, 3rd day, 4th day, 5th day, 6th day & 7th day. 2. Normalcy of skin color will be assessed on the day of healing of ulcer & later on 7th day & 15th day
