Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. American Society of Anaesthesiologist (ASA) grade I or II 2. Basal Metabolic Index (BMI) less than 30

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Edentulism 2. Upper airway abnormalities 3. Tumour or midline neck swelling 4. Need for rapid sequence induction or awake intubation 5. Burns, radiation or trauma to upper airway 6. Pregnancy

MeasureTime frame
To test the validity (Sensitivity, Specificity, Positive predictive value, Negative predictive value) of Acromio axillo suprasternal notch Index and Modified mallampati test in predicting “Difficult visualization of larynx ?.Timepoint: In pre anaesthetic clinic predictors will be assessed. In operation theatre direct laryngoscopy will be done to assess difficult visualisation of larynx. After one year of study, validity will be assessed statistically.

Correlation of Mallampati grading & acromio axillo suprasternal notch index with Cormack Lehane grading.Timepoint: Cormack Lehane grading will be assessed at the time of direct laryngoscopy. Correlation will be assessed statistically after one year of study.
