Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adults aged 18 years and older Individuals admitted to Kasturba hospital with a confirmed diagnosis of heart failure based on the Modified Framingham clinical criteria and echocardiography according to the criteria of the European Society of Cardiology

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals with pre-existing cardiovascular disease Pregnant individuals Chronic Kidney disease, especially those requiring chronic dialysis or with an estimated glomerular filtration rate of less than 15ml/min/1.73m2 Chronic liver disease Thyroid Dysfunction -Hyperthyroidism or Hypothyroidism

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The Triglyceride- glucose index and its association with patients with heart failure and its severity will be calculated and potential risk factors affecting the Triglyceride- glucose index will be noted and whether a significant association is found will be calculated.Timepoint: cross sectional study

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To determine the predictive value of the Triglyceride- glucose index index in assessing the risk of heart failureTimepoint: cross sectional study
