Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients suffering from intractable malignant abdominal pain. 2. Patient on maximum tolerable dose of oral opioid with inadequate pain relief or intolerable side effects.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patient who declined consent. 2. Patients having history of drug allergy. 3. Patient with coagulation abnormality or local site infection. 4. Patient with uncontrolled hypertension and cardiac disorder. 5. Distorted celiac plexus anatomy on CT abdomen. 6. Difficulty in lying prone position due to massive ascites.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate the efficacy of pain relief with the combined celiac plexus rhizolysis & bilateral splanchnic nerve radio frequency ablation for upper abdominal malignant pain.Timepoint: In 6 months of intervention.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Improvement of VAS score, quality of life(WHO BREF score) & decrease in dose of oral morphine consumption.Timepoint: Immediately after procedure & 1st week, 1st month ,3rd month 6th month after intervention.
