Intervention1: Local Anesthesia at Port Sites in Patients undergoing Lap Cholecystectomy with more than 5 ml doses: one group will receive 10 ml of 0.12% ropivacaine at all 4 port sites. second group

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1 All patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy for chronic cholelithiasis. 2 BMI=35 3 Above 18 years of age. 4 Able to provide informed written consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 Patients who refuse consent 2 patients with CBD stone 3 patients with recent history of jaundice

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Pain score on VAS at 1hr, 6 hr, 12hr, 24 hr and 7 days after operation.Timepoint: 1hr, 6 hr, 12hr, 24 hr and 7 days after operation.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
• Rescue analgesic requirement • Post-operative nausea and vomiting. • Intra-operative heart rate and blood pressure variations. • Time for completion of the procedure • Conversion from low pressure to standard or from standard pressure to open • Duration of hospital stay. Timepoint: Immediate Post Operative Period
