Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: INCLUSION CRITERIA 1.Gharsha (grittiness in the eyes) 2.Toda (Pricking pain) 3.Daaruna vartmakshi (painful lid and eye) 4.Vikunana (Photophobia/ discomfort and sensitivity to bright light) 5.Raktaraaji (Congestion) 6.Daaha (Burning sensation) 7.Upadeha (Stringy mucous discharge) 8.Schirmers Test less than 15mm 9.Subjects irrespective of gender, religion, socio-economic status are selected. 10.Subjects between the age of 20 to 60 years. 11.Subjects willing to sign the informed consent will be enrolled for trial.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: EXCLUSION CRITERIA: 1.Subjects with infectious conditions of the eye like conjunctivitis, corneal ulcer, uveitis, glaucoma, stye and blepharitis. 2.Subjects with any other known associated systemic disorders like SLE, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Sjogrens syndrome. 3.Those having symptoms due to effects of medications such as, Beta blockers, Antihistamines, corticosteroids. 4.Subjects having any ocular conditions due to mechanical / chemical injuries.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Assessment will be done based on self-formulated grading scale, subjective and objective parameters for Shushkaakshipaaka (DES) before and after the treatment with appropriate statistical method.Timepoint: 30 DAYS
