Intervention1: Imeglimin group: Based upon inclusion and exclusion criteria, patient will be started on Tab.IMEGLIMIN 1000mg twice daily after food for 3 months Control Intervention1: Metformin group:

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes patients 2. HbA1c less than 9% 3. eGFR more than 45

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Known type 2 diabetes patients on treatment 2. Known type 1 and type 3 diabetes 3. HbA1c more than 9% 4. Pregnant and lactating women
