Interventions

Intervention1: Coconut oil massage: The preterm neonates will receive moderate pressure massage therapy using edible coconut oil (4 g/kg body weight). Oil massage will be done by mothers/trained staff

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Medically stable preterm neonates between 28+0 weeks and 32+6 weeks gestation will be enrolled at 72 hours of birth.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Babies who had a major congenital anomaly, those whose parents will refuse to give consent, had hydrops, generalized skin disorders or bleeding tendencies, presence of fracture and those who had intraventricular hemorrhage (grade 2 or more) at the time of enrolment.
