Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Clinically diagnosed as acute febrile encephalopathy.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients in whom persistent altered mental state could be attributed only to one or more deranged metabolic parameters such as hypoglycaemia, hyperglycemia, hypercarbia, hyponatremia,hypernatremia, azotaemia, cerebrovascular accidents
