Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients of either sex admitted to the intensive care unit with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Contraindications of Non-invasive ventilation (unconscious uncooperative patients,shock,severe hemodynamic instability) 2.Neuromuscular disease 3.Chest wall deformities 4.Diaphragmatic palsy
