Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Group I (control group): 1.Age and sex matched healthy oral leukoplakia cases. 2.Normal appearing mucosa of patients who will be undergoing crown lengthening; periodontal surgery and 3rd molar impaction surgery. Group II (study group): 1.Patients with low risk oral leukoplakia. 2.Patients with high- risk of oral leukoplakia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Group I (control group): 1.Patients not willing to participate. Group II (study group): 1.Patients with other established carcinomas. 2.Clinico histopathologically diagnosed OPMDS other than leukoplakia. 3.Patients who are undergoing any local / systemic treatment of oral leukoplakia 4.Patients not willing to participate in the study.

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate and compare the m RNA expression of TGF- ß in low and high-risk oral leukoplakia and healthy oral mucosa by q PCR. Timepoint: Expected Timeline for the evaluation of the study 15 months.
