Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: This study investigates Class I bimaxillary cases, comprising individuals aged 15 to 30 years, presenting two distinct growth patterns: average growth with a Frankfurt-Mandibular Plane Angle (FMPA) of 25º, and vertical growth with an FMPA exceeding 32º. Notably, all participants exhibit specific dental characteristics, including an interincisal angle measuring less than 100º, a mandibular incisor position angle (IMPA) exceeding 110º, and upper incisor (UI) angles relative to both nasion-point B (NB) and nasion-point A (NA) exceeding 35º. Moreover, the inclusion criteria underscore the necessity of good oral hygiene among all selected patients

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Class I malocclusion (Dewey’s modification): 2. Anterior crowding 3. Anterior crossbites 4. Posterior crossbites 5. Drifting of 1st molar due to extraction space 6. Class I subdivision

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Absolute anchorage in orthodontic treatment is anticipated to be provided by the 2 TAD method Mini-screws and Miniplates, with Miniplates outperforming Mini-screws in terms of stability and fast retraction.Timepoint: rate and ammount of retraction of anterior teeth will be evaluated at 1 week after extraction of 1st premolars and finally at end of 6 months

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
amount of external root resorption and molar anchorage lossTimepoint: evaluation at end of 6 months
