Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: minimum of 20 healthy permanent teeth, no dental treatment for past 6 months, presence of generalized chronic gingivitis

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Uncontrolled systemic diseases, pregnant women, under antibiotics for past 5 days and had been using mouth rinse for past 3 months

To determine the effectiveness of 4% Cyperus rotundus mouth rinse in reducing the salivary bacteria 2.To compare the effectiveness of herbal mouth rinse as a pre-procedural mouth rinse over CHX and sterile water in reducing the bacterial count in salivaTimepoint: 1. at baseline 2. 10 minutes After rinsing the oral cavity with mouthrinse 3. 5 mins after the teeth cleaning At all these points the patients salivary samples will be obtained	—
