Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Scheduled for spine surgery eg: Microdisectomy, fractures, disc herniation, decompression surgeries etc (limited to 4-6 hours) 2. American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I-II. 3.18 to 65 years of age

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Known allergy to dexmedetomidine or magnesium sulfate 2.History of uncontrolled cardiovascular disease 3.History of neurological disease 4.Severe renal impairment 5.Hepatic disease 6.Coagulopathy 7.Patient refusal 8.hypotension is not achieved by these drugs with in 30min intraoperatively

Mean Arterial PressureTimepoint: 1.Basline vitals 2.Every 15minutes till the surgery is over

1.Surgical site visibility 2.Total blood loss 3.Surgeons’ satisfaction 4.Adverse effectsTimepoint: 1. Surgical field bleeding will be evaluated every 15minutes 2. At the end of surgery the comparison of total blood loss and the surgeons satisfaction on the field visibility
