Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: American Society of Anaesthesiologists physical status 1-2 Able to give Informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: significant liver and kidney disease. Allergic to neostigmine or sugammadex. Any history of neuromuscular disorder. History of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Pregnancy or nursing women Open Abdominal surgeries with subcostal incisions. Patients with arrhythmias or taking anti-arrhythmic drugs. surgeries anticipated to last more than 3 hours.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the recovery of respiratory muscle strength by assessing the thickening fraction of internal oblique muscleTimepoint: calculated at 30 minutes and 120 minutes after giving reversal agent and compare with baseline values

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the post operative atelectasis by the modified LUS score based on lung ultrasound. To assess the recovery of diaphragm, by assessing diaphragm excursion. To assess the displacement of hyoid bone by initially assessing the length of the geniohyoid muscle in the mid-sagittal plane between hyoid bone and mandibleTimepoint: calculated at 30 minutes and 120 minutes after giving reversal agent and compare with baseline values
