Intervention1: Roghan Badam Shireen: The drug will be administered orally. Duration of Protocol: 7 days Dose and Direction for use: 1) For 2 to 6 years : 2-3 ml with lukewarm water at bedtime for 7

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Patients having painful defecation and stool passed are hard and dry 2) Patients in age group of 02 to 12 years 3) Patients of both sexes

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Patients below 02 years 2) Patients above 12 years 3) Patients’ parent/guardian who fail to give consent 4) Patients who fail to follow up 5) Known cases of organic constipation eg. Constipation due to metabolic disorders, anorectal abnormalities, Hirschsprung’s disease etc. 6) Patients exhibiting associated signs of abdominal distension, vomiting, fever or occult blood in stool 7) Mental impairment

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Stool passed is soft corresponding to Types 3 to 5 of Bristol Stool Chart AND/OR Frequency of stool is two or more per week.Timepoint: 3rd day AND 7th day

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Improvement in Clinical Parameters viz easy defecation, increased appetite, no abdominal fullness/heaviness etc. thereby having an overall improvement in quality of life.Timepoint: 7th day & 7 days post-treatment follow-up to check for recurrence/relapse.
