Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.These patients can have either previously diagnosed or undiagnosed compensated chronic liver disease. 2.Patients are considered to have chronic liver disease by the presence of any of the following – - Nodular contracted liver on ultrasound - Portal vein diameter13 mm and - Esophageal varices on endoscopy or fibrosis on histology

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Age less18 years, 2.Pregnant women, 3.Hepatocellular carcinoma 4.Portal vein thrombosis 5.Patients with any disseminated malignancy

1.Early rate of detection of decompensation of cirrhosis with blood indicesTimepoint: on admission of patient at baseline

MeasureTime frame
involve comparing these indices with standard scoring systems (MELD-Na, APRI, CTP), determining cutoff values, & correlating blood-based indices with clinical outcomes such as organ failure, ICU admission, complications, & mortality Timepoint: on admission at baseline
