Intervention1: Caudal block: Caudal block will be given after induction of general anesthesia.Ultrasound guided block will be given with real time visualisation and compared with calculated Armitage

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age group of 1-6 yrs,maximum weight of 20 kg. ASA I and II posted for infra umbilical surgeries

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Refusal for block by parent/guardian. Any history of bleeding disorder. Local infection at the site of needle insertion. History of allergy to local anaesthetics. Any complication or adverse events during previous surgery under regional anaesthesia.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare caudal anaesthesia doses using dynamic ultrasonography with those derived from Armitage formula at T10 level.Timepoint: The effect will be assessed at 5mins after the block is given , at 7 minutes, at 10 minutes, at the time of incision .

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To compare surgical satisfaction score as noted by the operating surgeon The doses calculated using ultrasonography will be correlated with age height & weight of the child Timepoint: The effect will be assessed at 5mins after the block is given at 7 minutes at 10 minutes at the time of incision
